A user friendly tool addressed to beginners, to simulate the differences between a traditional process and a BIM process in building and construction.
We have selected easy instruments, connected to the most famous building game: Lego game.
No technical competences in using BIM are required to play the game.
You can play the game in two way: traditional and BIM
The aim is to finish as quickly as possible your building
which kind of process will be the faster? and why?
About 180 participants were at the project final conference: it has been very nice to see a big number of students and teachers from vocational schools participating to the conference. Moreover, some representatives of regional public authorities and a group of 25 professionals associated to AEEBC coming from various European countries were there.
We presented the project general aims and context in the 3 different participating Countries (Italy, Finland and Norway) and the research “BIM as a driver for innovation and employment”, an overview at European level about the use of BIM and the existing BIM-related professional profiles. All partners described…

About 180 participants were at the project final conference: a big number of students and teachers from vocational schools, some representatives of regional public authorities and a group of professionals associated to AEEBC coming from various European countries.
We presented the project general aims and context in the 3 different participating Countries (Italy, Finland and Norway) and the research “BIM as a driver for innovation and employment”, an overview at European level about the use of BIM and the existing BIM-related professional profiles.
Interesting BIM implementation experiences in real situations have been shown through a short movie and many pictures from Finland and Norway …
The project final conference will take place in the framework of the Bologna International Fair for Building and Construction (SAIE). This event lasts 4 days, it is one of the the major European events in building and construction and it is visited by more than 93.000 visitors from 90 Countries.
Objective of the conference is to present the intellectual outputs of the project to relevant stakeholders: universities, schools, VET training centers, private companies, industrial associations, trade unions and local and international public institutions, organizations and media.
Final conference programme in English and in Italian available …
Here a picture of the first day of the course organized by Centoform in collaboration with University of Ferrara (Dept. of Architecture), IIS Aleotti and ITS Territorio Energia Costruire. The course started today and will continue on September 6-10-12-14 @ IIS Aleotti.
The course aims at providing a first introduction to Building Information Modeling, focusing in particular on the following BIM aspects:
– effectiveness of 3D modeling with particular reference to the communicative dimension towards non-experts;
– effectiveness in incorporating changes in the early design phases
– importance of the collaborative dimension between different professionals / disciplinary fields
– importance of having updated information “in real time”.
Centoform, in collaboration with the local partners ITS TEC and IIS Aleotti, is organizing a training of trainers about BIM. The 5 days course called “DIGITALIZZAZIONE DEL PROCESSO EDILIZIO – INTRODUZIONE AL BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM)” will take place in Ferrara (Italy) during the first half of September 2018.
Participants are teachers and trainers from secondary schools and ITS (Higher Technical Institutes), in particular the ones teaching CAT and elettrotechnics related subjects.
Topics of the course:
The University of Stavanger will organize the second intensive training of BIM4PLACEMENT project from 2 to 6 October 2017. Participants will learn about curriculum development and training tools for Building Information Modeling and will have the opportunity to visit local
From May 29th to June 2nd 2017 the University of Oulu (Finland) hosted the first intensive training course of BIM4PLACEMENT project. Participants from Finland, Italy and Norway had the opportunity to learn about best practices in curriculum development and training tools related to BIM.
BIM can be defined as a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places. BIM softwares are used to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain many kinds of buildings and infrastructures. In Europe BIM is becoming more and more studied in VET schools, VET courses and university courses and applied in companies. It is becoming a new specialization with a high rate of employability.
In Italy this methodology is not jet sufficiently known and spread, while in other EU countries, especially in northern Europe, BIM is already very well know and used: Finland …
