New Professional Qualification about BIM released in Emilia-Romagna Region (Italy)

A very important result of BIM4PLACEMENT project has been achieved: the 19/11/2018 the new professional qualification (EQF 5) called “Tecnico in modellazione BIM” (BIM Modelling Technician) has been created and approved by Emilia-Romagna regional authority.

The qualification has been officially inserted in the section “Progettazione e Costruzione edile” (Building and construction) of the regional catalogue for professional qualifications of Emilia-Romagna Region (Italy).

Bologna (Italy) – A successful final conference!

About 180 participants were at the project final conference: it has been very nice to see a big number of students and teachers from vocational schools participating to the conference. Moreover, some representatives of regional public authorities and a group of 25 professionals associated to AEEBC coming from various European countries were there.
We presented the project general aims and context in the 3 different participating Countries (Italy, Finland and Norway) and the research “BIM as a driver for innovation and employment”, an overview at European level about the use of BIM and the existing BIM-related professional profiles. Last project transnational meeting

Ferrara, October 17th-18th 2018 – The last project transnational meeting among partners is done! Everything is ready for the final conference, we checked organization, slides, catering, dissemination materials… we are ready.

We also planned project activities from now to the end of the project, output revision and translation in national languages and in English, other dissemination initiatives at local level.
The external monitor joined us and gave a feedback on the projects results up to now.

Here a picture of the first day of the course organized by Centoform in collaboration with University of Ferrara (Dept. of Architecture), IIS Aleotti and ITS Territorio Energia Costruire. The course started today and will continue on September 6-10-12-14 @ IIS Aleotti.

The course aims at providing a first introduction to Building Information Modeling, focusing in particular on the following BIM aspects:
– effectiveness of 3D modeling with particular reference to the communicative dimension towards non-experts;
– effectiveness in incorporating changes in the early design phases
– importance of the collaborative dimension between different professionals / disciplinary fields
– importance of having updated information “in real time”.

New comparative report about BIM is now available online

The report BIM AS A DRIVER FOR INNOVATION AND EMPLOYMENT is now available online.

It includes a comparative analysis of the existing professional qualification in the 3 participating
countries (Italy, Finland and Norway), the analysis of the state of the art regarding BIM and its application in the 3 Countries and extensive references on the subject.

The report will be soon available also in Italian, Finnish and Norwegian.

BIM can be defined as a process involving the generation and management of digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of places. BIM softwares are used to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain many kinds of buildings and infrastructures.
